The Statfold Railway
August 8 - Open 09:00 to 16:00
THE Statfold Barn Railway, near Tamworth, is a unique narrow gauge railway, running both 2ft and 2ft6in locomotives. Created by Graham Lee as his private railway, several years of significant expansion has created running line with a balloon loop nearly two miles long, a loco shed, station, workshops, dual-gauge turntable and a purpose-built roundhouse that stores an amazing collection of steam, diesel and petrol locomotives.
Statfold opens just a few times every year, but agreed to host an exclusive day specially for Railway Magazine subscribers, promising between 16 and 18 locomotives in steam, with frequent train departures. All proceeds from the day will be donated to charities supported by the Statfold Barn Railway.
